Step 1. Since it is hard to find teabag papers in the United States you can find many preprinted teabag squares in craft books and on the Internet.
Step 2. Using either scissors, paper cutter or craft knife, cut out your teabag squares.

Note that there are two sides to each teabag square. There is a design side and a wrong side.

Step 3. Lay first square down design side up.
|
|
|
Step 4. Fold bottom edge to top edge. Use a bone folder or your fingernail to make a sharp fold.

Step 5. Open square up.
|
|
|
Step 6. Fold right edge to left edge.
|
|
|
Step 7. (A) Open square up.
(B) Turn square over so that the wrong side is facing up.

|
Step 8. Turn square so that the design side is up. Fold bottom corner up to top corner. Notice that the design side is now visible.

Step 9. Open square up. Wrong side should be facing up.
|
|
|
Step 10. Fold right corner to left corner.
|
|
|
Step 11. (A) Grip lower left corner with thumb and forefinger. Grip lower right corner with right thumb and forefinger.

(B) Push gently together until center opens and looks like a hungry baby bird’s mouth. (C) If you look at the bottom of the square you should see four distinct flaps.

|
|
|
|
Step 12. Fold two flaps to the right and two to the left. At this point there are four different design options depending on which flaps you fold together.
