Step 1. Cut out eight squares of patterned paper and eight squares of a contrasting paper. This paper can be regular scrapbooking paper. Follow Steps 1 through 7 of the Kite Fold. Fold all sixteen squares.

Step 2. Cut backing paper out of scrap paper. Be sure that the kites will cover it.
|
|
|
Step 3. Glue a patterned kite onto the scrap paper. Place the point of the kite at the center of the paper.

|
Step 4. Keep adding patterned kites until you have seven glued to the backing paper.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Step 5. Glue the last patterned kite down. Adjust the width by refolding if need be.
|

|
Step 6. Place glue under the tip of one patterned kite. Slip a contrasting kite into the tip of the patterned kite. You can get different variations by varying the amount the kite is slipped in.

Step 7. Continue gluing contrasting kites around the medallion. You have finished a Snowflake Medallion.
